Job summary

Excel Fitness in Coppell, TX is seeking a proactive Club Operations Manager to lead a team of up to 20 Team Players and coach one Assistant Manager. You will drive member acquisition and retention, ensure staff proficiency with the Planet Fitness app and POS, and maintain compliance with certifications and trainings.

You will collaborate with a Regional Manager, Sr. GM, AM, and HR on staff development, audits, and performance management, while delivering excellent member service and maintaining

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• At least six (6) months of equivalent management experience required. Prefer prior experience as an Assistant Manager with Excel Fitness.
• CPR/AED certification required. Uncertified Team Players will be given the opportunity to complete CPR/AED training within the first 30 days of employment.
• Proven ability to lead, inspire, develop, and supervise the work of others.
• Familiar with Excel’s mission, values, vision, and culture, as well as the Planet Fitness brand and operational requirements, and KPI metrics.
• Demonstrated the ability, confidence, and leadership to manage a team.
• Effective communication skills with internal and external customers.
• Must be team-oriented, motivated, and well-organized.
• Ability to think critically and evaluate solutions to problems proactively.
• Must have the ability to handle difficult situations and deal with sensitive and highly confidential information.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; DataTrak; Workday; Service Channel; and other related applications.

Responsibilities

• Cultivate the next generation of leaders by identifying strengths and training opportunities for each Team Player.
• Lead the Assistant Manager in planning strategies to attract and keep members.
• Ensure club Team Players are proficient in Planet Fitness mobile app use and POS operations.
• Ensure staff stay up to date on trainings, marketing plans, promotions, and operational updates.
• Utilize club reporting and KPI metrics to align with company goals.
• Manage the club's budget and ensure profitable operation.
• Oversee, supervise, and inspire Team Players to perform at their best.
