Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club in New York is seeking an Assistant Club Manager in Training who will lead departments, ensure GOLD standards, and develop talent. You\'ll partner with the Club Manager to drive performance and member satisfaction across Merchandising, Perishables, or Member Experience.

This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, ServSafe certification, forklift eligibility, and the ability to open and close shifts.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience as a retail store, supermarket, or warehouse operations manager.
• Excellent communication skills; ability to lead and motivate a large team.
• High school diploma and/or college degree preferred.
• Must obtain and maintain Servsafe certification.
• Forklift operator certification/ability required.
• Open shift availability and 18+ years old.

Responsibilities

• Provide Strategic Department Leadership across assigned departments (Merchandising, Perishables, or Member Experience).
• Recruit, Hire, and Onboard Team Members to ensure confident and capable staff.
• Oversee Labor Planning and Scheduling to align with trends and budget targets.
• Drive Sales, Inventory Control, and Shrink Management for performance.
• Champion Member Experience Standards: GAA, GOLD, and service excellence.
• Execute Operational Readiness to keep departments clean, stocked, and ready for business.
• Maintain Equipment and Facilities to sustain uninterrupted operations.
