Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club in New Jersey seeks an Assistant Club Manager in Training to provide leadership in assigned departments and guide the club toward strong performance. You will develop talent, drive policy execution, and supervise onboarding, training, and safety programs while serving as Manager on Duty when needed.

The role emphasizes talent development, audit readiness, and cross‑functional collaboration to deliver great member experiences and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience as a retail store, supermarket, or warehouse operations manager.
• Strong drive for results with high levels of member service.
• Excellent communication and leadership of large teams.
• Knowledge of shrink controls, merchandising, and omni procedures.
• Completion of company training program preferred; ServSafe certification and forklift qualification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic department leadership to oversee daily operations and standards.
• Recruit, hire, onboard, and certify team members.
• Oversee labor planning, scheduling, and budget targets.
• Drive sales, inventory control, and shrink management.
• Enforce food safety, OSHA, audits, and compliance across departments.
• Lead department talent management and cross-functional support.
