Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Club Manager in Training to lead assigned departments, build high-performing teams, and drive club performance.

You will manage hiring, scheduling, and compliance while delivering a premium member experience across merchandising, perishables, or member experience tracks. The role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and a commitment to standards such as GOLD and GAA.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in retail store, supermarket, or warehouse operations management.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead and motivate a large team.
• Strong leadership capabilities including managing cross-functional teams, training, and driving results.
• Knowledge of store operations, membership, front-line, gas station, maintenance, receiving, and omni procedures.
• Completion of company training program is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic department leadership across assigned departments (Merchandising, Perishables, or Member Experience).
• Recruit, hire, and onboard team members with certification as needed.
• Oversee labor planning and scheduling to align with trends and budgets.
• Drive sales, inventory control, and shrink management through effective execution.
• Champion member experience standards (GAA, GOLD, LAST) across departments.
• Ensure safety, compliance, and training through audits and certifications.
