Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. seeks a Network Security Architect to design and build the network security architecture our environment runs on, from firewall and segmentation design through cloud network architecture, with hands-on implementation alongside engineering, not hand off a design and move on.

The role sits within the CISO Office, reporting to the Director of Security Architecture and Engineering, and requires close collaboration with IT and business partners to deliver secure outcomes across

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field required.
• Seven or more years in an Information Security Architect role.
• Experience with regulatory compliance and information security frameworks (NIST 800/CSF, ISO 27001, COBIT).
• Advanced knowledge of network technologies, security encryption, and access controls.
• Experience with Windows and Linux systems, regex and JSON.
• One or more Palo Alto certifications (PCNSA, PCNSE, PCCSE, PCSAE) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Designs network security architecture from the ground up including firewall policy, segmentation, and cloud networking in Azure.
• Leads end-to-end migrations: assess, target state, configure, and cutover.
• Collaborates with engineering during build and implementation, adapting design in real time.
• Reviews architectures, identifies gaps, and designs remediation including addressing legacy configurations.
• Documents and diagrams architecture in conceptual and physical forms with underlying configurations.
• Engages as technical advisor to IT, engineering, and business partners on security questions.
