Job summary

The City of Fort Lauderdale is seeking an experienced support professional to assist the Senior System Engineer in planning designing implementing and maintaining city IT systems and cloud infrastructure across multiple data centers. You will help manage IAM, enterprise email, VMware and IaaS while ensuring security and reliability across operations.

The role requires strong collaboration with data and security teams and a willingness to work non‑business hours as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in IT or related field.
3+ years of experience planning designing implementing and supporting large systems/cloud infrastructure (Office 365/Azure experience preferred).
Additional coursework or experience may substitute for required education/experience.

Responsibilities

Assist Senior System Engineer to develop maintain documentation standards policies procedures for systems and cloud infrastructure.
Plan design deploy integrate monitor maintain and support IAM, VMware, IaaS, enterprise email and related systems.
Maintain knowledge of IT infrastructure technologies including IAM, SAN, cloud services and network security.
Provide 24‑hour on‑call support and participate in non‑business hours tasks as needed.
Lead or assist in root cause analysis and preventative solution development.
Collaborate with data voice operations and security teams on monitoring alerting reporting and capacity planning.
