Job summary
The City of Fort Lauderdale is seeking a mid‑level IT support professional to install, configure, and troubleshoot desktop/laptop systems, software, and peripherals across city locations.
You will coordinate outages with vendors, respond to Service Desk requests, diagnose Level 1–2 issues, and deploy computer images and security packages. The role includes after‑hours on‑call rotation and ongoing professional development.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in IT or a related field is required.
- At least two years of experience administering and supporting workstations and peripherals.
- Bachelor’s degree may substitute for one year of experience.
- Valid Florida driver's license within 30 days of hire.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, software, and peripherals.
- Coordinate with vendors to schedule outages and perform maintenance across city locations.
- Respond to service desk requests and support tier escalations.
- Diagnose Level 1–2 issues across systems, databases, networks, and security teams.
- Create and deploy images and security packages to standardize the computing environment.
- Stay current with new technologies and innovations in IT.
- Assist with deployment of new modules and features and participate in on‑call rotations.
- Perform related duties as required.
