Job summary
City of Santa Monica is seeking an experienced IT Systems Administrator to plan, implement, and maintain enterprise servers, storage, virtualization, backups, and cloud services across the city’s data center and hosted environments. You will manage Active Directory, DNS, email systems, security controls, and DR planning with regular testing.
The role requires hands-on administration, strong troubleshooting, and the ability to coordinate with City staff, consultants, and vendors.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or MIS or closely related field.
- Minimum three years of experience provisioning, installation/configuration, operations and maintenance of enterprise systems and related infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Plan, implement, and maintain enterprise servers, storage, virtualization, backups, and cloud services.
- Manage Active Directory, DNS, email systems, and security controls.
- Develop and test disaster recovery plans and execute DR exercises.
- Install, configure, and maintain server OS, patches, and upgrades.
- Lead vendor relations, evaluations, and ongoing support tasks.
