Job summary

The Nuclear Company in the United States is hiring a Director, Cloud & Security Engineering to own cloud and security across Azure and AWS, plus network and identity security. You will manage incident response programs and vulnerability management, while aligning IT demand with strategic roadmaps and budgets.

You’ll lead a hands-on security team, collaborate with operations and legal, and drive enablement for AI tools with strong governance and risk management.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in security and/or network engineering.
• 4+ years leading technical staff or programs.
• Cloud engineering and security depth across Microsoft Azure and AWS.
• Identity security experience: PAM, MFA, CA.
• Experience building or maturing incident response and vulnerability management.
• Hands-on familiarity with SSE/zero-trust, FortiGate, EDR, SIEM, MDM.
• Fluency with compliance frameworks (NIST 800-53, CMMC).
• Experience partnering with business functions and managing demand against capacity.
• Strong communication skills; translates security risk for leadership.

Responsibilities

• Own cloud engineering standards for Azure and AWS; set security architecture.
• Direct vendor and budget decisions for network and security platforms.
• Lead identity security: privileged access, MFA, conditional access.
• Develop incident response playbooks and post-incident reviews; report risk to leadership.
• Drive vulnerability management and evidence for audits/reviews.
• Direct email, SaaS, and AI security posture; enforce OAuth and app access controls.
• Own intake and prioritization of business demand; maintain rolling roadmaps.
• Grow and mentor the engineering team; serve as escalation backup.
