Job summary

Horizon3 is seeking a Security Engineering Manager to lead our Cloud and Application Security groups, guiding strategy, architecture reviews, and incident response while partnering across engineering, compliance, and operations. You will drive secure design, threat modeling, and CI/CD security practices across the organization.

You will mentor engineers, set roadmaps, and promote a culture of ownership and accountability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity.
• 5+ years of experience securing AWS environments.
• 5+ years of experience securing cloud-native systems and modern software delivery pipelines.
• Prior experience leading security engineers or serving as a technical lead in security engineering functions

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and grow the Security Engineering team, including Cloud and Application Security Engineers.
• Set priorities and operating rhythms for the team, balancing strategic security investments with day-to-day engineering.
• Design and implement security controls across Cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.).
• Continuously monitor and improve cloud posture with GuardDuty, Security Hub,AWS WAF, CloudTrail, Inspector.
• Embed security into the SDLC with threat modeling, architecture reviews, and CI/CD security automation.
• Lead the application security program, including secure coding practices and vulnerability management.
• Manage and tune application security tooling (SonarQube, Dependency Track, ZAproxy, Trufflehog, Trivy).
• Build and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines for automated security testing of cloud resources and apps.
• Define threat models, risk assessments for cloud deployments and product features.
