Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Cloud Security Engineer to implement and sustain security controls across Microsoft 365, GCC High, Azure, AWS, and hybrid environments, including guardrails and secure landing zones. The role emphasizes risk assessments, regulatory compliance (NIST, DFARS, ITAR), and AI security integration.

Candidate should have five+ years in cloud security with hands-on policy, IaC, and telemetry experience, and be a U.S. citizen. This position is based in the Cheyenne, Wyoming area.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of cloud identity, network security, data protection, logging, posture management, and workload protection concepts.
• Working knowledge of generative AI and agentic-system security risks, including data exposure, prompt injection, tool and connector permissions, agent identities, secure execution, and audit logging.
• Ability to support technical risk assessments, control testing, remediation documentation, and audit evidence collection.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues, document work clearly, manage priorities, and collaborate with technical and non-technical partners.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain security controls across Microsoft 365 Commercial and GCC High, Azure, AWS, and hybrid services; include cloud guardrails and workload protections.
• Configure and test security policies, infrastructure-as-code controls, deployment automation, and supporting integrations with owners.
• Review findings, troubleshoot control failures, and recommend practical configurations to reduce risk without disrupting services.
• Administer cloud security posture management, workload protection, environment onboarding, policy configuration, and alert integrations.
• Maintain platform health, tune controls, document exceptions, and identify gaps in cloud coverage.
• Integrate cloud telemetry with Security Operations; support escalated investigations with cloud expertise.
• Coordinate exposure prioritization with Vulnerability Management and work with owners on remediation; role does not own underlying services.
