Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Cloud Security Engineer to implement and maintain security controls across government and commercial cloud environments, including Microsoft 365, Azure, AWS, and GCC High. This role emphasizes hands-on cloud engineering, risk assessment, and audit readiness to support secure AI and enterprise copilots in regulated environments.

Responsibilities include configuring guardrails, testing controls, and collaborating with platform owners to reduce risk while maintaining service

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree as stated or equivalent experience in cybersecurity/IT/engineering.
• Five years of related experience, including three+ years in cloud, security, systems or infrastructure engineering.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft cloud or AWS security capabilities and hybrid environments.
• Experience implementing or maintaining technical controls through cloud policy, scripting, automation, or IaC.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain cloud security controls across Microsoft 365 Commercial, GCC High, Azure, AWS, and hybrid services.
• Configure security policies, IaC controls, deployment automation, and integrations with platform owners.
• Administer cloud security posture management, coverage monitoring, and alert integrations; support investigations.
• Coordinate with Risk and Compliance for DFARS, ITAR, ISO frameworks and audit evidence.
• Support AI/ML security controls for enterprise copilots and generative AI workloads.
