Job summary

Amentum is seeking an experienced Cloud Security Engineer to implement and maintain security controls across commercial and government cloud environments, including Microsoft 365 Commercial and GCC High, Azure, AWS, and hybrid services. The role requires hands-on cloud engineering, strong regulatory knowledge, and the ability to translate requirements into guardrails, automation, and telemetry.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship required for this position.
• Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, IT, CS, engineering, or equivalent.
• Five years of related experience including 3+ years in cloud/security/infrastructure engineering.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft cloud or AWS security capabilities.
• Experience with cloud policy, scripting, automation, or infrastructure as code.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain security controls across Microsoft 365, Azure, AWS, and hybrid services.
• Configure security policies, IaC controls, deployment automation, and integrations with owners.
• Review findings, troubleshoot failures, and recommend practical configuration changes to reduce risk.
• Administer cloud security posture management and workload protection capabilities.
• Coordinate remediation with Vulnerability Management and cloud platform owners; role does not own underlying cloud services.
• Collaborate with SOC and risk/compliance teams; provide evidence for audits.
