Job summary

Tyler Technologies seeks a Cloud Solutions Engineer to enhance reliability, scalability, and performance of cloud-based applications. You will collaborate with engineering, product support, cloud operations, and infrastructure teams to reduce toil and improve observability, preventing production issues before they impact customers.

The role requires 5+ years in SRE/DevOps, strong cloud experience (AWS/Azure/GCP), and scripting in PowerShell or Python.

Qualifications

• BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years in SRE/Cloud Operations/DevOps or related engineering roles supporting cloud production systems.
• 3+ years software engineering experience including design, review, testing, and releases.
• Proficiency with AWS, Azure or GCP and Terraform for IaC.
• Hands-on experience with monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability tools.
• Experience with incident response processes and tooling.
• Familiarity with SRE concepts: SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, toil reduction, post-incident reviews.
• Strong scripting/programming: PowerShell, Python, Bash, C#, Go, or .NET.
• DB concepts: MS SQL Server and/or PostgreSQL; OS: Windows and Linux.
• CI/CD, deployment automation, configuration management, DevOps practices.
• Excellent problem-solving and collaborative communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure cloud infrastructure and services.
• Improve monitoring, alerting, logging, and observability to detect risks early.
• Assess production systems for risk, bottlenecks, and resiliency gaps; implement improvements.
• Define and improve service reliability indicators and error budgets with teams.
• Strengthen incident response readiness and drive timely resolution of issues.
• Lead root cause analyses and preventative actions to reduce incidents.
• Develop automation and infrastructure provisioning practices to reduce toil.
• Regularly perform performance tuning, capacity analysis, and health assessments.
• Drive reliability engineering maturity and cross-team productivity.
• Participate in on-call rotations and contribute to incident management best practices.
• Stay current with cloud trends, DevOps, and observability technologies.
