Job summary

New York Technology Partners seeks a Director of Cloud Platform Engineering (SRE & Observability) to lead a talented team of engineers and managers. This role focuses on reliability, observability, and cloud platform excellence across a large, complex environment, with a hands-on, data-driven leadership style.

The director will mentor teams, drive SRE practices, own SLOs/SLAs, and ensure compliance with CIS/NIST while delivering scalable, secure cloud services and defining the roadmap for

Qualifications

5+ years leading engineering teams
10+ years software engineering in large-scale systems (AWS)
Hands-on SRE and observability at scale
Proven governance of SLOs/SLAs
Experience with data-driven decision making

Responsibilities

Lead a team of engineers and managers focused on SRE, observability, and cloud platform engineering
Oversee hiring, staffing, coaching, and performance management for the team
Drive performance improvements, incident response, and postmortem discipline
Define and govern SLOs/SLAs across platform engineering
Collaborate with architecture to align cloud platform decisions with standards
Ensure audit/compliance controls and budget adherence
