Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Software Engineering Lead to oversee design, modernization, and integration of enterprise software for NIH/NCI. You will provide technical leadership across the SDLC, ensure secure, scalable cloud-native solutions, and collaborate with government stakeholders to deliver mission-critical systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline. Master's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, modernization, testing, deployment, and sustainment of enterprise software applications.
• Provide technical leadership across the full SDLC using Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
• Establish and enforce software engineering best practices, CI/CD, and DevSecOps processes.
• Develop and maintain enterprise apps using Java, Python, Ruby, Oracle, NoSQL databases, AWS, and serverless computing.
• Lead cloud modernization initiatives including migration, containerization, and cloud-native solutions on AWS.
• Design, implement, and support hosting environments with on-prem and cloud infra; ensure high availability and performance.
• Oversee database design, security, and data integrity for enterprise apps and data platforms.
• Collaborate with analysts, QA, systems engineers, and government stakeholders to deliver solutions and train users.
• Support IV&V, automated testing, code reviews, and release management.
• Ensure compliance with NIH/NCI/HHS/FISMA/FedRAMP/508 and cloud security requirements including SAML.
• Provide technical leadership for Oracle Clinical (OC), C3D, Oracle WebLogic environments and related apps.
• Prepare documentation and architecture artifacts; drive adoption of new technologies.
