Job summary

Global Payments Inc. is seeking a Sr. Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer to design, optimize, support, and automate cloud infrastructure for business platforms.

You’ll work with AWS and Azure, contribute to security and compliance, and mentor teammates while driving automation and stability across global environments. The role requires 5–7 years in IT engineering with strong IaC (Terraform/Ansible/Powershell/Python) skills, and experience with GitHub Enterprise, Jenkins and Harness for CI/CD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Experience designing and operating in AWS and Azure environments.
• 5–7 years of systems administration, design, engineering or commensurate IT experience.
• Experience with enterprise repositories, GitHub Enterprise, and deployment management with CI/CD (Jenkins and Harness).
• Experience with multiple scripting languages and strong IaC, including Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell and Python.
• Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows Server administration with scripted automation.
• Knowhow of Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, DFS and Group Policy (automation/implementation).
• Understanding of virtualization technologies (VMware ESXi, vCenter, VDIs).
• Experience with automation across life cycle environments and configuration management/deployment systems.

Responsibilities

• Formulate and carry-out cloud infrastructure designs in AWS and Azure.
• Support automated build activities, provisioning, and firewall rules.
• Own engineering efforts across multiple projects with business and product teams.
• Maintain installation and configuration procedures and drive automation.
• Provide cross-training and share tooling knowledge within the team.
• Develop and enforce technical policies and procedures with management.
• Drive security and compliance for systems managed by the team.
• Improve stability and availability of infrastructure services.
• Coordinate with project managers on progress and issues.
