Job summary

CBRE is seeking a Database Engineer to design, implement, and optimize databases and data platforms supporting analytics and business operations. The role involves ETL/ELT pipelines, production deployments, and cross-team collaboration with analysts and applications teams.

The ideal candidate will have strong SQL skills, cloud platform experience (Azure/AWS), and proficiency with Power Platform tools such as Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI.

Qualifications

• Relevant bachelor’s degree or professional certifications preferred with at least 3 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience in data engineering, database development, including ETL/ELT pipelines for relational databases such as SQL Server or Azure SQL.
• Understanding of data warehousing, dimensional modeling, data quality, and pipeline orchestration.
• Advanced SQL skills, including joins, CTEs, window functions, stored procedures, query optimization, and data modeling.
• Familiarity with Python for data processing, automation, and API integration.
• Experience with Git-based development and version control.
• Experience with at least one major cloud platform, preferably Azure and/or AWS.
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform and Office products (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, SharePoint).
• Strong organizational skills and adaptability to Agile environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, maintain, and improve data pipelines and platforms for analytics and applications.
• Collaborate with analysts and stakeholders to translate data requirements into scalable solutions.
• Develop solutions using Power Platform products including Power Apps and Power Automate, and Azure SQL.
• Ensure data quality and integrity through validation and reconciliation processes.
• Optimize database performance through indexing and data structure design.
• Monitor database security, backups, and disaster recovery planning.
• Maintain data dictionaries, models, and process maps; provide user guides.
• Assist with training and support for end-users on database systems.
