Job summary

CBRE seeks a Database Engineer to design and implement databases, data pipelines, and front-end interfaces for data updates and business processes. You’ll work across cloud data platforms with a focus on SQL, Azure SQL, and Power Platform to support analytics and operations.

You will partner with data analysts, stakeholders, and other engineers to translate complex data requirements into scalable, maintainable solutions. Excellent SQL, Python, and Git skills are required.

Qualifications

• Relevant bachelor’s degree or professional certifications preferred with at least 3 years of relevant work experience.
• In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
• Experience in data engineering, database development, ETL/ELT pipelines for relational databases such as SQL Server and/or Azure SQL.
• Advanced SQL skills, including joins, CTEs, window functions, stored procedures, query optimization, and data modeling.
• Familiarity with using Python for data processing, automation, and API integration.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, maintain, and improve reliable data pipelines and data platforms that support analytics, reporting, and decision-making.
• Work closely with data analysts, business stakeholders, application teams, and engineers to turn complex data requirements into scalable solutions.
• Develop solutions using Power Platform products including PowerApps, Power Automate, Azure SQL, etc.
• Ensure data quality and integrity using validation, verification, and reconciliation processes.
• Optimize database and application performance by fine-tuning queries, indexing, and building data structures and views.
• Monitor database security, backups, and disaster recovery plans.
• Maintain documentation, including data dictionaries, data models, process maps, and user guides.
• Assist with training and support to end-users on database systems and applications.
