Job summary

Cardinal Health is seeking a Data Engineer within the Digital Solutions Finance team to design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines and architecture using Databricks and GCP. You will ingest, process, and transform large-scale datasets to support analytical and operational needs for Finance stakeholders.

You will specialize in cloud data warehouses, data modeling, and collaborative problem-solving to build scalable, secure data solutions, while optimizing performance and cloud costs.

Qualifications

• 4-8 years of experience, preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language (Python, Scala, or Java).
• Hands-on experience developing data solutions using Databricks, preferred
• Solid experience working within the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) ecosystem, particularly with BigQuery, Cloud Storage, and IAM.
• Experience with data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and data warehouse concepts.
• Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver projects of varying difficulty.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines using Databricks (Spark/Scala/Python) and GCP services (such as BigQuery, Cloud Storage, and Dataflow).
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver high-quality datasets.
• Implement data quality checks, monitoring, and alerting mechanisms to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of data.
• Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and establish best practices for data engineering within the team.
• Perform performance tuning of key processes to optimize processing times and minimize cloud infrastructure costs.
• Assist in migrating legacy data workflows to modern cloud platforms.
