Cardinal Health is seeking a Data Engineer in the US to design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines and architecture supporting analytics for Finance stakeholders. The role emphasizes Databricks and Google Cloud Platform to ingest, process, and transform large-scale datasets.

You will collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to ensure high-quality datasets, implement data quality checks, and optimize performance.

Qualifications

• 4-8 years of data engineering experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Strong proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language (Python, Scala, or Java)
• Hands-on experience developing data solutions using Databricks, preferred
• Solid experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), especially BigQuery, Cloud Storage, and IAM
• Experience with data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and data warehouse concepts
• Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver projects of varying difficulty

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines using Databricks (Spark/Scala/Python) and GCP services (BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow)
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver high-quality datasets
• Implement data quality checks, monitoring, and alerting mechanisms to ensure data accuracy
• Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and establish best practices for data engineering
• Perform performance tuning of key processes to optimize processing times and cloud costs
• Assist in migrating legacy data workflows to modern cloud platforms
