Job summary

Cardinal Health is seeking a Data Engineer within the Digital Solutions Finance team. You will design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines and architecture using Databricks and Google Cloud Platform to support analytics for Finance stakeholders.

You will work with data scientists, analysts, and business partners to deliver scalable, secure data solutions. The role requires strong SQL and programming skills, experience with Databricks, and familiarity with data modeling and ETL/ELT

Qualifications

• 4-8 years of experience, preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language (Python, Scala, or Java).
• Hands-on experience developing data solutions using Databricks, preferred
• Solid experience working within the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) ecosystem, particularly with BigQuery, Cloud Storage, and IAM.
• Experience with data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and data warehouse concepts.
• Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver projects of varying difficulty.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines using Databricks (Spark/Scala/Python) and GCP services (BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow).
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver high-quality datasets.
• Implement data quality checks, monitoring, and alerting mechanisms to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
• Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and establish best practices for data engineering.
• Perform performance tuning to optimize processing times and reduce cloud costs.
• Assist in migrating legacy data workflows to modern cloud platforms.
