Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Technician to support and maintain AWS data centers across locations. You will perform server rack installations, hardware repairs, and network troubleshooting while responding to incidents to ensure high service availability.

The role requires on-call duties, collaboration with engineers, and participation in change management. You will also help document processes, train new team members, and travel between sites as needed to support 24/7

Qualifications

2+ years of computer/server hardware troubleshooting experience, or IT-related work.
2+ years of computer layer 1/2 networking experience.
Work flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays.
Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

Performing server rack installations, hardware break-fix on various components, troubleshooting network issues, responding to operational incidents that impact service availability, and carrying out routine network, server hardware, and operating system repairs to contribute to the overall availability of AWS services
Serving as a primary contact point for both internal and external stakeholders, including engineers, software developers, vendors, and contractors
Performing on-call duties and participating in scheduled maintenance and change management activities
Contributing to documentation and process improvement initiatives based on your analysis of operational issues
Helping to interview, train and onboard new team members
