Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle, WA is seeking a Clinical Trial Specimen Processing Specialist I. You will handle collection, processing, labeling, storage and shipment of specimens for oncology trials.

Collaborate with lab staff, coordinators and investigators to maintain high-quality documentation and compliance with GDP/ALCOA+. This onsite role requires a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Biology or related field.
Associate degree with 1 year lab experience.
High School Diploma with 3 years lab experience.
Lab experience in a lab setting.
Strong written and verbal communication.
Familiarity with QA processes.
Experience with regulated documentation.

Responsibilities

Process clinical trial specimens according to study protocols and SOPs, including preparation, centrifugation, aliquoting, labeling, storage and shipment.
Perform routine techniques for serum, plasma, and PBMC handling.
Package and ship specimens to central laboratories with timelines.
Complete requisitions, tracking records and shipping docs accurately.
Maintain ALCOA+ records and GDP compliance.
Assist with preparation of lab kits and supplies.
Monitor inventories and notify leadership of needs.
Collaborate with staff to support specimen collection and processing.
Follow all safety, regulatory, and GCP requirements; protect participant confidentiality.
Support daily lab operations and perform additional duties as needed.
Travel between Fred Hutch locations for specimen handling.
