Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle is seeking an entry-level Shared Resources Specialist I – Clinical Research Specimen Processing to support investigators. You will handle and process clinical specimens, maintain chain of custody, operate lab instruments, and prepare data summaries as part of a growing team.

The role emphasizes collaboration, accuracy, and regulatory compliance, with an 11am–7:30pm shift and a rotating closing shift. 1:30–10pm once every 5–6 weeks. Hours may vary by need.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in any field of education.
• Associate Degree and 1+ years of experience; Or GED/ High School Diploma and 3+ years of experience.
• Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt to new protocols and techniques.

Responsibilities

• Research support under supervision and processing clinical research specimens.
• Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with faculty and external users.
• Operate and maintain lab instrumentation and perform data calculations.
• Prepare charts, graphs and summaries; document laboratory activities and data.
• Provide regulatory and compliance support for the shared resource.
• Perform administrative tasks including reporting results and basic billing.
