Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle is seeking a Clinical Trial Specimen Processing Specialist I to support oncology trials. You will handle collection, preparation, processing, documentation, storage, and shipment of specimens per study protocols and SOPs.

Reporting to the CRS Clinical Trials Specimen Processing Manager, you will work with laboratory staff, research coordinators, clinic personnel, and sponsors to ensure timely handling of research specimens.

Qualifications

• Minimum required lab experience in a scientific setting.
• Familiarity with QA processes and documentation.
• Ability to deliver documents supporting QA in a timely manner.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with diverse computerized systems and data entry.
• Good time management and ability to work in a team or independently.

Responsibilities

• Process clinical trial specimens per protocols and SOPs.
• Prepare, package, and ship specimens to central labs.
• Maintain accurate records of processing, storage, and shipment.
• Support kit preparation and inventory monitoring.
• Travel between campus sites to retrieve and process specimens.
• Assist with after-hours specimen collection and processing windows.

Bachelor's degree in Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Medical Laboratory Science, or related field
