Purpose & Scope

The Clinical Technician II works under the direct supervision of the RN and is an active member of the healthcare team. Under the supervision of a licensed nurse, the Clinical Technician performs routine duties involving patient care, including assisting with activities of daily living, observing patient status changes, maintaining a clean and safe environment, transporting patients, and other related duties. Empathy, good communication, and nursing skills are essential for caring for patients.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional six hours of education related to the current role are required.
• Experience: At least six months of experience as a Clinical Technician I or equivalent clinical experience, or enrollment in a Clinical Technician II program, or successful completion of medical/surgical clinical experiences as a student nurse.
• Certification: BLS certification required.
