Responsibilities

Primary:

• Perform all responsibilities outlined in the Patient Care Specialist job description.
• Maintain friendly, cordial relations with all employees, building confidence and credibility.
• Provide clinical and administrative support, adhering to company policies and procedures.
• Uphold the Company’s Core Values: teamwork, communication, empowerment, quality of care, and friendliness.
• Ensure activities comply with department expectations and all relevant regulations, including HIPAA.
• Prepare exam and treatment rooms for patient intake.
• Perform triage by checking vitals, blood draws, injections, etc.
• Observe patients, chart changes, and report adverse reactions or condition changes, taking necessary actions.
• Assist with lab testing, phlebotomy, and minor procedures.
• Maintain supplies and equipment.
• Support patients utilizing Virtual Medicine Providers.
• Complete and forward patient charts accurately and promptly.
• Arrange referrals and obtain pre-authorizations as directed.
• Maintain positive relations with clients and staff, fostering a respectful and professional environment.
• Conduct federal and non-federal DOT, BAT, and Drug Screen exams.
• Perform physical, sensory, cognitive, and environmental functions as specified.
• Adhere to operational standards and confidentiality protocols.
• Complete mandatory compliance training.
• Maintain cleanliness of the office and support a professional environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Secondary:

• Assist with clerical tasks, including patient check-in and data recording.
• Verify insurance eligibility and communicate billing information.
• Answer phones, take messages, and manage correspondence professionally.

Support for Telehealth:

• Prepare patient charts via virtual communication.
• Assist with follow-ups, including pharmacy requests, paperwork, scheduling, and clinical calls.

Additional Requirements:

Level 1: High School Diploma or equivalent, current CPR license, and at least 1 year of experience as a certified MA, EMT, or Paramedic in a clinical setting, preferably urgent care.

Level 2: Certified MA, EMT, or Paramedic with current CPR, and either 4 years’ relevant experience with 2 years in a Fast Pace role or 6 years’ relevant experience.

Level 3 & 4: Similar qualifications with increased experience requirements.

Additional duties include administrative tasks such as scheduling and training. CPR certification must be active within 7 days of hire.

Experience and Education Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent; at least 1 year of relevant experience preferred; active and verifiable license or certification required. TB and IV certification must be obtained within 60 days if applicable.
