They deliver outstanding patient service by maintaining a compassionate and welcoming environment and respond promptly and accurately to changes in patient condition or treatment response. Responsibilities

  1. Fulfill all responsibilities of the Patient Care Specialist role as outlined in the specific job description.
  2. Maintain friendly, professional relations with all employees, building confidence and credibility.
  3. Support clinical and administrative tasks, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  4. Uphold the company's core values of teamwork, communication, empowerment, quality of care, and friendliness.
  5. Ensure activities align with department expectations and comply with federal and state regulations, including HIPAA and health information management.
  6. Prepare exam and treatment rooms for patient intake.
  7. Perform patient triage, including checking vitals, blood draws, injections, etc.
  8. Observe and report patient condition changes, reacting appropriately.
  9. Assist with lab testing and phlebotomy.
  10. Support providers during minor procedures and physicals.
  11. Maintain supplies and equipment.
  12. Assist with virtual medicine services.
  13. Complete and forward patient charts accurately and timely.
  14. Arrange referrals and obtain pre-authorizations as directed.
  15. Maintain positive relationships with clients and staff, fostering a respectful and friendly work environment.
  16. Perform federal and non-federal DOT, BAT, and drug screening exams.
  17. Meet physical and environmental demands of the role.
  18. Adhere to operational standards and confidentiality policies.
  19. Complete mandatory compliance training.
  20. Keep the office clean and organized to support a professional environment.
  21. Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Assist with clerical tasks such as patient check-in, demographic and insurance data collection, with professionalism and care.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and communicate payment policies.
  • Answer phones, take messages, and return calls professionally.

Supporting Telehealth

  • Prepare patient charts via virtual communication methods.
  • Assist with follow-up tasks including pharmacy requests, paperwork, scheduling, and clinical calls.

Additional Requirements and Responsibilities

Levels vary based on experience and certification, ranging from a high school diploma and CPR license to extensive clinical experience. Specific experience and certification requirements are detailed for each level.

Experience and Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 1 year of relevant clinical experience preferred.
  • Active and verifiable license or certification as a Medical Assistant, EMT, or Paramedic required.
