Responsibilities

Primary:

  • Fulfill all responsibilities outlined in the Patient Care Specialist role description.
  • Maintain friendly, professional relations with all employees, building confidence and credibility.
  • Provide clinical and administrative support, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Uphold the company's Core Values: teamwork, communication, empowerment, quality of care, and friendliness.
  • Ensure activities comply with department expectations, federal and state regulations, including HIPAA.
  • Prepare exam and treatment rooms for patient intake.
  • Perform patient triage, including checking vitals, blood draws, injections, etc.
  • Observe and chart patient conditions, report changes, and take necessary actions.
  • Assist with lab testing and phlebotomy.
  • Support providers during minor procedures and physicals.
  • Maintain supplies and equipment for treatment.
  • Assist patients utilizing Virtual Medicine Providers.
  • Complete patient charts accurately and promptly, forwarding as needed.
  • Arrange referrals and obtain pre-authorizations per provider instructions.
  • Maintain positive relationships with clients and staff, fostering a respectful and friendly work environment.
  • Perform federal and non-federal DOT, BAT, and Drug Screen exams.
  • Meet physical, sensory, cognitive, and environmental demands of the role.
  • Adhere to company standards and confidentiality policies.
  • Complete mandatory compliance training.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the office environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Secondary:

  • Assist with clerical tasks like patient check-in and data recording with professionalism and care.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and communicate payment policies.
  • Answer calls, take messages, and return voicemails professionally.

Telehealth Support:

  • Prepare patient charts via virtual communication.
  • Assist with follow-up tasks, including pharmacy requests, paperwork, scheduling, and clinical calls.

Additional Requirements:

Level 1: High School Diploma or equivalent, current CPR license, and at least 1 year of experience as a certified MA, EMT, or Paramedic in a clinical setting, preferably urgent care.

Level 2: Certified MA, EMT, or Paramedic with current CPR license, with either 4 years’ relevant experience and 2 years in the Clinical Tech role at Fast Pace, or 6 years’ relevant experience.

Level 3 & 4: Similar qualifications with increased experience requirements, as detailed in the original description.

Additional responsibilities include administrative duties like scheduling, ordering, and training, as assigned by management. CPR certification must be active within 7 days of hire.

Experience and Education Requirements

Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 1 year of relevant experience preferred. Active, verifiable license or certification required, with TB and IV certifications obtained within 60 days if applicable.
