Job summary

UNC Health Care is seeking a Clinical Support Technician II in Chapel Hill, NC. The role supports professional caregivers, transports patients and equipment, maintains patient rooms, and handles clerical duties and data entry on the patient care unit.

The position requires CNA I/II with BLS, and a minimum of one year clerical or customer service experience plus three months nursing assistant experience. Onsite work, 40 hours per week, with a pay range of $19.12–$27.17 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; higher-level degree may satisfy this requirement.
• Listed as a Nursing Assistant I by the NC DHHS.
• Licensed as a Nursing Assistant II by the NC DHHS.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• One year of clerical or customer service experience and three months of nursing assistant experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and other health care providers with routine examinations and procedures and procure equipment and supplies.
• Review patient care documentation and report significant changes to RN or physician.
• Perform clerical tasks including workload organization, greeting visitors, researching information, reviewing and revising orders, answering phones, transcribing orders, and maintaining medical records.
• Provide clerical support including PI audits and data entry.
• Provide clinical support such as cleaning work areas, maintaining equipment, troubleshooting software/hardware issues, changing linens, restocking supplies, transporting patients and materials, and orienting new staff and students.
• Provide direct personal care per care plan (bathing, dressing, feeding, ambulation), record vital signs, and assist with special procedures as trained.
