Job summary

UNC Health in Chapel Hill, NC seeks a Clinical Support Technician II to assist physicians and healthcare teams in delivering patient care, transport patients and equipment, and maintain patient care unit administrative functions. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, NC Nursing Assistant licensure (I II) and BLS, with priority for clinical and clerical experience.

Qualifications

• Must be fluent in verbal and written English language.
• Ability to develop computer skills if not already competent.
• Experience in clerical or customer service preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and other health care providers with routine examinations and procedures, as well as procurement of equipment and supplies.
• Critically review patient care documentation, noting significant changes and report to RN or physician.
• Provide clerical tasks: organize workload, greet visitors, research information, review orders for logic, transcribe physician orders, maintain medical records, perform QA audits and inventory.
• Provide administrative and clerical support including PI audits and data entry.
• Provide clinical support: clean work area, maintain equipment, troubleshoot software/hardware, change linens, check inventory, transport patients/supplies/specimens, orient new staff.
• Provide direct patient care per plan of care (bathing, dressing, feeding, ambulation), measure vitals, collect specimens, wound care, IV care, catheter care, feeding via tubes.
• Reinforce routine teaching and distribute patient education materials.
