Job summary

UNC Health Care in Cary, NC invites applications for the Clinical Support Tech II - SOM Wake Cardiology. This role assists the professional caregiver, transports patients and equipment, maintains patient rooms, and supports a wide range of clerical functions on the patient care unit.

Requires Nursing Assistant I/II licenses, BLS, and relevant clerical or nursing assistant experience. Strong English and basic computer skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be fluent in verbal and written English.
• Capability to develop computer skills if not competent.
• Education: High school diploma or GED; Nursing Assistant I/II licenses; BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and other health care providers with routine examinations and procedures, as well as procurement of equipment and supplies.
• Critically review patient care documentation making note of any significant changes in the patient's condition and report to nurse or physician.
• Provide clerical tasks: organize workload, greet visitors, research information, review and revise orders, answer phones and transcribe orders, maintain medical records, perform quality assurance audits and inventory.
• Provide administrative and clerical support including PI audits and data entry
• Provide clinical support: cleaning the work area, maintaining equipment, troubleshooting software/hardware, changing linens, checking inventory, transporting patients/supplies/specimens, orienting new staff and students.
• Provide direct personal patient care per plan of care activities (bathing, dressing, feeding, ambulation); measure vital signs and other metrics; assist with specimens, wound care, IVs, catheter care, tube feeding.
