Job summary

Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge of medical terminology to understand diagnoses and procedures.
  • Strong customer service skills with ability to identify concerns and refer to appropriate staff.
  • Ability to operate computerized programs and systems to enter, modify, and retrieve sensitive information in EHRs and scheduling systems.
  • Ability to schedule medical appointments in a clinical setting.
  • Ability to work independently across a wide range of duties.
  • Effective communication with internal and external customers in person, electronically or by telephone.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clerical support to care teams and patient care processes.
  • Screen and route phone calls and provide information per privacy rules and clinic processes.
  • Schedule consultations, labs, and imaging based on physician orders.
  • Coordinate with clinics to minimize patient travel and scheduling conflicts.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality under HIPAA.
