Job summary

Northeast Georgia Health System is seeking a non-licensed Patient Care Technician to support nursing units with patient transport, room care, and routine clinical tasks. This role reports to the shift primary nurse and serves adolescents to geriatrics under defined practice guidelines.

Ideal candidates will meet NGHS minimums, may complete the Foundations of Nursing course, and demonstrate flexibility, teamwork, and strong communication in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• CCHT certification (dialysis unit only).
• High School Diploma, GED, or high school transcript showing completion of at least the sophomore level.
• No previous experience required.
• Candidates may enroll in NGHS's in-house PCT Academy if not yet fully qualified.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and report basic patient data (vital signs, weight, urine/stool characteristics).
• Assist with patient transport, positioning, and hygiene per procedure.
• Monitor intake and output; document data accurately.
• Report changes in patient status to licensed staff promptly.
• Maintain hand hygiene and use PPE per policy; support equipment cleaning and restocking.
• Prepare rooms for new admissions and support unit operations.
