Job summary

UC Health is an integrated academic health system serving Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. This role acts as an ambassador of care for patients before and after visits and procedures, supporting clinics, providers, and departmental workflows to ensure patient satisfaction in the clinic and OR.

The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma or GED, 1–2 years of equivalent experience, and strong medical terminology knowledge, attention to detail, and excellent customer service.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • 1–2 years of equivalent experience preferred.
  • Proficient knowledge of medical terminology for accurate chart review.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and customer service.
  • Ability to navigate the medical record and coordinate clinic workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Answers telephone and direct to correct person if needed.
  • Manages Outlook Calendar for providers within the clinic.
  • Manages office incoming mail.
  • Manages incoming communication related to case authorization.
  • Validates registration information with patients and verifies third-party payors.
  • Engages in population appropriate communication.
  • Gives clear instructions to patients/family regarding treatment or scheduling.
  • Monitors and coordinates follow up for planned procedures.
  • Prepares for upcoming clinics and coordinates template changes.
  • Coordinates provider calendar related to faculty obligations.
  • Performs in-basket management tasks.
  • Coordinates completion of forms and authorizations.
