Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with BSN.
• Current RN license in good standing.
• Coding certification (AAPC/AHIMA) required.
• Experience with EMR systems and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Apply evidence-based utilization criteria to determine audit viability.
• Assess clinical appeals by payer policies and regulations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary stakeholders during audits.
• Identify root causes of denials and communicate findings.
• Serve as subject matter expert for hospital charging, documentation and medical necessity decisions.
• Provide policy guidance, training and education to reduce denials.
