Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking a Revenue Integrity RN Charge/Coding Auditor to consult on clinical charge audits across the system. The RN will perform audits of medical records for denials review, disallowed charges, and retrospective reviews, serving as a clinical resource for Revenue Cycle.

This remote role requires current RN licensure, AHIMA/AAPC coding certification, and strong knowledge of hospital charging, coding, and regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications

• Current nursing licensure (RN) required.
• Coding certification through AAPC or AHIMA required.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, EMR systems and databases.
• Deep knowledge of healthcare claim denial process.
• Solid understanding of the healthcare revenue cycle.

Responsibilities

• Apply evidence-based utilization criteria to determine audit viability.
• Assess clinical appeal requests against payer policies and regulations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary stakeholders during audits.
• Identify root causes for denials and communicate to the team.
• Serve as a subject-matter expert on hospital charging, documentation, and medical necessity.
• Support clinical departments with policy guidance and training on audits.
• Maintain understanding of projects, tools, and systems used in audits.
• Complete ongoing education and licensure CEU requirements.
