Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking a Revenue Integrity RN Charge/Coding Auditor to consult on clinical charge audits for Intermountain hospitals and clinics. You will perform audits for denials review, retrospective reviews, and provide clinical guidance to Revenue Cycle teams.

The role requires knowledge of charging, coding, and policy guidelines to ensure compliance and protect information. The position supports fully remote work options where approved and requires video interviews.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and BSN preferred.
• Current licensure as a registered nurse required.
• Current coding certification through AAPC or AHIMA.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, EMR systems and electronic databases.
• Deep knowledge of healthcare claim denial process and revenue cycle.

Responsibilities

• Use evidence-based utilization review criteria to assess audits for commercial and governmental insurers.
• Assess clinical appeals by reviewing payer policies and Federal/State regulations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary stakeholders during audits.
• Identify root causes for denials and communicate with care teams.
• Serve as subject matter expert for hospital charging, documentation and medical necessity decisions.
• Support clinical departments with audits via policy guidance, training, and education.
• Maintain understanding of projects and use of technology and systems.
• Complete ongoing education and licensure-related CEU requirements.
