Job summary

Intermountain Health seeks a Revenue Integrity RN Charge/Coding Auditor to consult on clinical charge audits for hospitals and clinics, executing audits and reviews of denials while serving as a clinical resource for revenue cycle teams. You will ensure compliance with coding rules and policy guidelines to protect information and support denial resolution.

This fully remote role requires RN licensure and coding certification, with EPIC experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Current licensure as a registered nurse is required.
• Current coding certification through AAPC or AHIMA.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, EMR systems, and electronic databases.
• Understanding of the healthcare claim denial process and revenue cycle.

Responsibilities

• Use evidence-based utilization criteria to determine audit viability for commercial and governmental insurance.
• Assess appropriateness of clinical appeal requests by payer policies and regulations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary stakeholders during audits.
• Identify root causes for denials and communicate to care teams.
• Serve as SME for hospital charging, documentation and medical necessity decisions.
• Support departments with policy guidance, training and education to reduce denials.
• Maintain understanding of projects, technologies and systems related to audits.
• Complete ongoing education and licensure/CEU requirements.
