Job summary

Sterling Health Care is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist in providing pharmacy services to clinic patients and support the daily operations of the pharmacy. This position reports to the Director of Pharmacy and helps ensure safe, accurate medication dispensing.

Responsibilities include dispensing under supervision, data entry, labeling, inventory control, and patient communication. Occasional evenings and travel between health center sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of prescription medications and related medical technology.
• Knowledge of safety standards and proper handling of pharmaceutical substances.
• Ability to read and interpret prescription information accurately.
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally.

Responsibilities

• Dispenses prescriptions by mixing suspensions, counting tablets, or pouring liquids under pharmacist supervision.
• Enters patient data and prescription information into the computer system.
• Prepares and prints prescription labels.
• Maintains inventory control of medications and supplies, including ordering and stocking.
• Provides non-drug information to patients and responds to basic inquiries.
• Operates cash register and processes transactions accurately.
• Maintains a tidy and organized work area.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and participates in meetings and staff development.
