Mercy is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist (Retail) to oversee medication dispensing, order verification, and therapy monitoring. You will collaborate with physicians and care teams to optimize therapy and ensure patient safety and regulatory compliance.

The role emphasizes counseling patients and supporting a high-quality pharmacy service while maintaining HIPAA protections and a patient-centered approach.

Qualifications

• Active pharmacist license in good standing with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy.
• Education: BSPharm or PharmD from ACPE-accredited school.
• Retail pharmacy experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Review, verify, and process medication orders for dosing, route, and therapeutic use.
• Identify and resolve drug interactions, duplications, allergies, and contraindications.
• Collaborate with physicians to optimize medication therapies.
• Oversee preparation, labeling, dispensing, and delivery of meds.
• Counsel patients and provide drug information to care teams.
• Respond to complex medication inquiries and ensure staff accuracy.
• Supervise technicians in absence of the pharmacy manager.
• Maintain adherence to policies and procedures for medication distribution.
