Job summary

Mercy is seeking a licensed pharmacist to oversee preparation and dispensing of medications, verify orders, and monitor patient therapy. You will provide medication information to patients and clinicians, and intervene with physicians to optimize therapy.

In this role you will supervise pharmacy support staff, ensure timely medication administration, and uphold policies, procedures, and regulatory standards while contributing to Mercy’s mission in patient care.

Qualifications

• Requires a current pharmacist license from applicable State Board of Pharmacy.
• BS or PharmD degree from ACPE-accredited school or college.

Responsibilities

• Oversees preparation and dispensing of medications.
• Verifies medication orders and monitors patient therapy.
• Provides medication information to patients, physicians and staff.
• Identifies, recommends, resolves, and prevents medication-related problems through physician intervention.
• Supervises and directs pharmacy support personnel to ensure timely administration.
• Follows policies, procedures, protocols and regulatory standards.
