UNC Health is seeking a per diem Pharmacist to join the Retail Pharmacy SES Campus Health team in Chapel Hill, NC. The role focuses on optimizing medication use and ensuring safe, effective drug distribution services.

Responsibilities include prescription interpretation, clinical interventions, dispensing, patient counseling, and supervising shift staff. NC licensure or eligibility is required within 6 months of orientation, with a standard 8 hours per week schedule.

Competenze

• Pharmacist licensure with NC Board of Pharmacy or eligible within 6 months of orientation.
• No prior experience required.

• Receives, interprets and reviews prescriptions; clarifies issues with prescriber or nurse.
• Analyzes patient data to provide optimal drug therapy recommendations.
• Compounds and oversees preparation and dispensing of medications, including sterile products.
• Respects formulary and substitution programs to optimize therapy and control costs.
• Documents in medical records and manages controlled substances documentation.
• Counsels patients and families on pharmaceutical care issues.
• Directs workflow of the shift and supervises technicians, students or volunteers.
• Adheres to policies, procedures, standards and regulations.
• Identifies and participates in process improvement opportunities.
• Precepts students and residents and assists in training staff.
