Job summary

• Receives and interprets prescriptions; clarifies with prescriber/nurse as needed.
• Analyzes patient data to optimize drug therapy; performs clinical interventions.
• Compounds and oversees dispensing of medications, including sterile products.
• Ensures formulary compliance and cost-effective therapy.
• Counsels patients and families on pharmaceutical care issues.
• Directs shift workflow and supervises technicians and students.
• Participates in process improvement and training of staff.
