Job summary

Universal Health Services, Inc. is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist to join the hospital pharmacy team in Texas.

The role focuses on antimicrobial stewardship, medication safety and optimized dosing, with responsibilities spanning medication histories, therapy monitoring and drug information provision. The Pharmacist may respond to Code events, fill orders, supervise support staff, and cover essential duties of the Director of Pharmacy when needed.

Qualifications

Completion of a general 1-year pharmacy residency, specialty residency, and/or fellowship or at least 3 years of hospital pharmacy experience.
Ability to work independently and handle stress appropriately.
Ability to handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule.
Ability to set priorities, make critical decisions and respond quickly to emergency requests.
Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written), preferably in both English and Spanish.
Knowledge of laws, rules and regulations that govern the practice of pharmacy
Knowledge of pathophysiology, interpretation of diagnostic criteria, pharmacokinetics and pharmacotherapeutics

Responsibilities

Resource for antimicrobial stewardship, medication safety and optimized pharmaceutical dosing.
Assist with medication histories, monitor therapies and provide drug information.
Respond to Codes (Code Blue/Sepsis/Stroke/STEMI) and prepare needed medications.
Fill orders for medications, monitor therapies and supervise supportive staff.
In the absence of the Director of Pharmacy, assume essential responsibilities of the director
