Job summary

Akron Children's Hospital seeks an experienced Clinical Pharmacist II to lead advanced pharmacotherapy management for complex pediatric and high-acuity patient populations. You will participate in rounds, collaborate with physicians and nurses, and drive antimicrobial stewardship, anticoagulation management, and protocol-driven patient care.

The role includes education for staff and residents, development of clinical protocols, and active involvement in quality improvement and regulatory

Qualifications

• Education: BS Pharm or PharmD from an accredited college of pharmacy
• Current Ohio State Board of Pharmacy license and eligibility for board certification preference
• 3+ years of pharmacy experience; PGY1 required; PGY2 preferred
• Pediatric pharmacy experience is preferred

Responsibilities

• Participate in daily interdisciplinary rounds and provide pharmacotherapy recommendations
• Promote cost-effective medication use via formulary management and stewardship initiatives
• Independently manage complex therapies including antimicrobial stewardship and anticoagulation
• Initiate and modify therapy under collaborative agreements or protocols
• Educate and guide pharmacists, residents, students, and clinicians
• Develop and maintain clinical protocols, order sets, and guidelines
• Contribute to quality improvement, formulary management, and medication-use evaluation
• Precept students and residents and provide feedback
• Document interventions and pharmacokinetic consults in the EMR
• Serve as a departmental clinical leader and support accreditation and regulatory readiness
• Review and verify medications per hospital policies
