Job summary

University of Miami invites an experienced pathologist to join our Department of Pathology. The role spans patient care across UMH, JMH, and Sylvester Cancer Center, with responsibilities from gross description to microscopic diagnosis and coding verification.

Expectations include involvement in frozen section and, when applicable, autopsy services, 24-hour call coverage, and active participation in resident education and research collaborations. Florida licensure is required.

Qualifications

• Must be an MD or DO who is Board Certified or Board eligible in Anatomic Pathology, Clinical Pathology, or both.
• Licensed to practice medicine in the State of Florida.
• Strong knowledge of surgical pathology and subspecialties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care services at UMH/JMH/Sylvester Cancer Center and satellites.
• Perform gross description, tissue sampling, microscopic exams, and coding verification.
• Perform Frozen Section and autopsy duties when applicable.
• 24-hour call coverage according to division needs.
• Participate in resident/fellow and medical student education.
• Engage in collaborative research and quality assurance activities.
