Job summary

The University of Miami seeks a board-certified MD or DO in Anatomic Pathology or Anatomic and Clinical Pathology for a full-time faculty position in the Department of Pathology. Licensure in Florida is required.

Responsibilities include surgical pathology, intraoperative consultations, teaching of residents and students, quality improvement initiatives, and collaboration in multidisciplinary tumor boards. Opportunities for research and scholarly activity are available.

Qualifications

• Must be an MD or DO board certified or board eligible in Anatomic Pathology or Anatomic and Clinical Pathology.
• Must be licensed to practice medicine in the State of Florida.
• Experience with quality improvement and a team-based model.
• Knowledge of JCAHO, CAP and CLIA regulations.
• Ability to work independently and provide reliable diagnoses.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care services at UMH/JMH and Sylvester Cancer Center settings.
• Gross description, tissue sampling, microscopic examination, reporting, and coding verification.
• Perform Frozen Section diagnoses when applicable.
• Perform autopsies when applicable.
• 24 hours call coverage according to division, when applicable.
• Participate in tumor boards, multidisciplinary meetings, and resident education.
• Engage in educational activities for medical students.
• Contribute to daily quality assurance and hospital committees.
