Job summary

The University of Miami Health System seeks an experienced, board-certified pathologist to join its Department of Pathology in Miami, FL.

The role covers surgical pathology, intraoperative consultations, hematopathology, laboratory medicine, and participation in education and research across UM hospitals.

Candidates must be licensed in Florida, hold board certification or eligibility in AP/CP, and commit to maintaining JCAHO/CAP/CLIA standards while advancing patient care.

Qualifications

• Must be board-certified or board-eligible in Anatomic Pathology (AP) and/or Clinical Pathology (CP).
• Strong knowledge of surgical pathology and subspecialties as assigned; Florida licensed physician.

Responsibilities

• Patient care across UMH, JMH and affiliated centers.
• Perform gross description, tissue sampling, microscopic examination and reporting.
• Perform Frozen Section diagnoses when applicable and autopsies when applicable.
• Provide 24-hour call coverage as assigned.
• Participate in resident/fellow education and collaborative research.
• Contribute to daily quality assurance and hospital committees.
